I’m usually not a fan of fall candles, but these smell so good!
My husband surprised me with a set of the discovery box, and our home smells so good!
OUR STORY
Hello, my name is Pacheco Quijivix. I am the owner and candle artist behind PACHECO SOY. What began as a family tradition has grown into a brand built on heritage, craftsmanship, and purpose.
PACHECO SOY is more than a candle brand—it's a legacy built through generations. Candle-making has been in my family for decades, beginning with my grandfather—the original “Pacheco”—who first poured candles by hand, guided by patience and purpose. He passed his craft to my father, the second “Pacheco,” who carried the tradition forward with pride. Now, as the third to hold the name, I continue what they began.
The name “Pacheco” isn’t just a nickname; it’s a badge of honor. It represents our family’s dedication to craftsmanship and the belief that candles should never be rushed. I grew up watching my father the same way he once watched his own—absorbing not just techniques, but values.
At PACHECO SOY, we don’t cut corners. Every candle is hand-poured using time-honored methods and the finest ingredients—free from paraffin, phthalates, parabens, and other toxins often found in mass-produced candles.
Based in Orange County, California, where creativity meets calm, our candles carry more than scent—they carry story, memory, and legacy. Because while anyone can make a candle, perfecting the craft takes heart, discipline, and time.
At PACHECO SOY, we’ve spent generations mastering it.
The Story of the Senior Pacheco
My father—the second to carry the name “Pacheco”—began his journey in candle-making as a young boy, standing beside his own father and learning the craft by hand. He didn’t just learn how to make candles—he absorbed the patience, precision, and artistry behind every pour.
With little more than passion and determination, he started his own candle business from our patio. Resources were limited, but his vision was clear: to one day open a custom candle warehouse where he could bring his artistic vision to life and share his work with the world.
Years of sacrifice, long nights, and setbacks followed—but he never gave up. And in time, he achieved what once seemed impossible. He built Mayan Candles, a space born from grit and guided by passion. His work went on to be featured in collaborations with world-renowned fashion brands, film productions, and unique clientele who recognized his unmatched craftsmanship.
His dedication and journey are the foundation of PACHECO SOY. Every candle I make carries the spirit of his work—his discipline, his dreams, and his unwavering belief in the craft.
To the one who taught me the craft, and inspired the dream—thank you, Dad.
The Original Pacheco
My grandfather—the first Pacheco—was the candle master of the Quijivix family. In his small village in Guatemala during the 1960s, he became known as the town’s most respected candle maker. With no access to modern tools or technology, he mastered the art entirely by hand—guided only by instinct, discipline, and an unwavering standard for excellence.
He was a perfectionist in the best way—strict about quality, committed to purity, and always determined to deliver candles that exceeded expectations. To him, a candle wasn’t just something you lit—it was something you respected. That mindset laid the foundation for everything we do at PACHECO SOY today.
His dedication, his standards, and his artistry continue to live through every generation that followed. He didn’t just teach candle-making—he defined it for our family.
Grandpa, thank you. I wish to one day be like you.
